Work based stress
By Jose Penrose of Lifecoach-Taliesin
In the midst of the current economic downturn, many people will be forced to embark unexpectedly on a new role for which they feel ill equipped, perhaps driven back onto the job market, or having to revamp a CV and prepare for employment interviews. Maybe some will have been pushed into early retirement and feel seriously worried about how to fill their unexpected free time. In either case, they may be uncertain about which route to follow, confidence at an all time low, and unable to take a decision or move forward in any direction. Coaching can help in a very positive way to identify a way forward uniquely suited to the individual concerned, making the very best use of unique skills and ambitions. A coach can help a client to gain focus, set clear goals, build their confidence and self esteem and have a better life balance. If you are facing retirement, either planned or unplanned, you may think you no longer need goals and strategies, but the sense of being no longer needed or not accomplishing anything can be stressful. You may have a long list of things you plan to do, but find you lack the motivation to embark on or complete any of them now you have time on your hands. You want to stay flexible - and there is no need to plan every minute of every day - but you do want to maintain a certain momentum and stay focused and engaged with your plans. You may welcome the support of a coach in formulating plans, now that the structure of the working environment has been stripped away. The experienced coaches at Mind to Change’s new coaching project, can help clients to explore options – and there will be options – identify new goals and begin to step out confidently along a new path, whether it leads to a new job or a fulfilling retirement. Rather than a tragedy, this can be a new opportunity to explore values and beliefs and find a new, rewarding and fulfilling role. Take action now and contact José Penrose at jose@lifecoach-taliesin.co.uk to talk through your options and learn how coaching can be the answer to your problems today.
